Just a quick post about my journey through my work outs with P90X. I'm a very skeptical person when it comes to anything, especially infomercials. I saw this work out...and was totally intrigued with the concept of muscle confusion. In my preparation to attend my 10 year high school reunion and with my husband's participation too (a way to bond) we decided to purchase it. My sister-in-law and her husband are also doing the program.
I'm starting my third week. Because I'm a Kick a** I've also started running 3x a week. I'm not sure how long I'll keep doing that...but it felt great last week. I don't really enjoy KENPO...although, a friend of my sister-in-law recommended getting a standing punching bag, which really helped her get into it. Otherwise, I feel like a fool doing a bunch of kicks and punches into the air. I just try to remember to keep an open mind. I do really enjoy doing the YOGA, although it literally kicks my butt...after doing it I feel soreness in my fingertips! I did YOGA 2x last week (I skipped Kenpo).
I started doing 10 push-ups and now I do 25. I really try to push myself. I can't say I'm succeeding so much with the chin-ups but I try really hard. Plyometrics makes my bottom hurt so bad. All that jumping worried me about my knees...but so far it has been manageable. Landing on my toes has helped a lot. I love the work out my legs get. I see a pretty nice calf forming =)
For the last 2 weeks...I gotta admit...I feel good, happy and stronger. I'm constantly sore (seriously sore) and sometimes starved for some carbs! The diet is really working. I do binge on some goodies sometimes...I'm human.
I drink the Recovery Formula ( P90X supplement ) and I LOVE it! I've had some issues with the packets coming in the mail...but their customer service has been decent so far. They have been helpful and have gotten my items to me...better late than never ;)
